MATCHES AT MELBOURNE RYAN HAS TWO WINS MELBOURNE, Wednesday. Play in the first round of the interstate golf matches occupied the second day of the national golf meeting on the Metropolitan links. New South Wales defeated South Australia by five matches to two. Victoria won all seven matches against Tasmania, and Victoria beat New South Wales by five matches to two. M. .T. Ryan, the Victorian amateur champion, defeated two difficult opponents. He defeated Leu Nettlefold, of Tasmania, 1 up. and 11. Morrison. of New South AVales, at the 23rd hole.
