ASKS FOR £4,000,000
CANADA TO UNDERTAKE BIG WORKS SCHEME DUMPING CLAUSES APPLY OTTAWA, Tuesday. The Prime Minister of Canada, Mr. R, B. Bennett, announces that he intends to ask Parliament for a vote of £4,000,000 for the relief of unemployment. Mr. Bennett will move that It is expedient that the sum named be appreciated and paid out of the consolidated revenue .fund for the construction, extension or improvement of public works and undertakings and for railways and Highways. ■Another motion will be submitted providing for amendments to the Customs Act, and the application of the dumping clauses to certain commodities will be proceeded with.
