TO REVIVE “TUTANKHAMEN” The Auckland Amateur Operatic Society will present •‘Tutankhamen’* at His Majesty’s Theatre for a short season commencing on Thursday, September 25. The story of the rash tourist who pitted his puny frame against the mighty magic of antiquity and essayed to spend a n : ght alone in the tomb of the mighty Pharaoh “Tutankhamen’ is the theme upon which has been hung an amount of humour, drama and melody that took Auckland by storm some years ago. Night after pjght audiences were enthralled. The same goo fortune will be their when “Tutank* amen” is revived at His Majesty’s. SUBURBAN THEATRES The Prince Edward Theatre is showing “The Time, the Place and the Girl,’ a romantic story starring Conrad Nagel and Betty Compson, and “The Case of Sergeant Grischa,” a powerful story based on Arnold Zweig’s famous novel. The Britannia Theatre is showing “Crazy that Way,” a charming romantic story starring Joan Bennett and Kenneth McKenna, and "Dame* Ahoy,” a comedy of stage life starring Robert Ames. The Victoria Theatre, Devonport, ( showing “The Saturday Night Kid, * romantic comedy of shop girls, starring Clara Bow. The Grey Lvnn Cinema is showing “Hold Your Man,’’ a bright comedy starring Laura La Plante, and Million Dollar Collar,” in which tn® well-known dog actor, Rin-Tin-Tin. does some intelligent work.
