TREES TO BE PLANTED

BEAUTIFYING SOUTH ROAD An unsightly triangle on the Great South Road near Fapakura formed by cutting off a sharp, corner during reconstruction work when the Inain road was concreted some years ago, is to be altered considerably in appearance by the Great South Road Beautifying Association. At a meeting at Otahuhu last evening the association decided to proceed with clearing work immediately. The triangle is to be cleared of scrub and long grass and will be planted with trees during a ceremony to be arranged shortly. The preliminarywork is to be done by the association and all local bodies of the district are to be asked to contribute to the cost of the trees.
