Govt. Bonds and Stock Firm CONSIDERABLE activity is registered in Commercial Bank of Australia. These shares sold this morning at 225, leaving the market firm. Government Bonds and Stock are in demand, sellers scarce.
Business on the Auckland Market Transactions on the Auckland market this morning: At the early call. —Commercial Bank of Australia, £1 2s; Farmers’ Trading (ord., late sale), 7s lOd. At the midday call. —Commercial Bank of Australasia, £1 2s; Bank of XeW South Wales. £37 7s 6d; Wailii Grand Junction, 2s 4d; Mount Lyell (rights), 2s Id. # Market at Midday Insurance are quiet, with the exception of New Zealand and South British. The former have keen buyers Ot 46s 9d. sellers now asking 47s (id. {South British are unchanged, with buyers 59s 3d. sellers 59s 9d. Coal shares are steady, occasional •ales recorded. Grey Valley have filers at 255. Hikurangi are some-
what weaker. Pukemiro sellers have dropped to 66s 6d without attracting buyers. Renown, all Issues, remain, firm. Taupiri are steady, with buyers 26s 6d, sellers 28s. Many buyers are appearing for shipping shares. Devonport remain firm. Northern Steam have steady buyers at 14s 6d, sellers 14s 3d. P. and O. buyers have advanced to 43s 9d.
