MATTHEWS AND HOOK ON AUSTRALIA FLIGHT TWELVE DAYS OUT DELHI, Tuesday. Matthews and Hook, who are flying from England to Australia, have arrived at the Dumdum airdrome. James Matthews, who was formerly a mechanic to Bert Hinkler, was accompanied by Eric Hook, a wealthy young Englishman, when the plane ■ took-off secretly from Lympne airdrome at dawn on Friday week, June 20, in an effort to beat Hinkler’s record flight to Australia. They have therefore been nearly 12 days out and in order to beat Bert Hinkler’s record of J 5?; days they must reach Darwin by thp end of this week.
