Charles, green lace. AN AT HOME AT SUNSHINE HOUSE SCHOOL AND SOLARIUM VISITED

An At Home was held at Sunshine House, Nelson Street, on Thursday afternoon, to meet and thank all the women who helped during the recent street collection. The hall was crowded with visitors, and the president, who welcomed the guests, read the details of each station and on l.- half of the association warmly thanked all those who had given so splendidly. Airs. Ferner said that the amount received, with donations, was over <£1,300. This was largely due to the magnificent work and enthusiasm of the collectors. The appeal for sick children, where they actually received treatment, touched the heart of the people, especially when they found the benefit that the children derived from the treatment. A detailed explanation of the treatment received and the manner in which it was given, was then given, and Airs. Ferner spoke of the generosity of the donors who had contributed £lO each to the equipment of the children. A frock was on view, which is to be the school uniform. These are beingmade by Airs. Nielsen’s committee, and are made of grey blanket cloth and bear a large emblem of the association, a forget-me-not. Numbers of the visitors went through the school and saw the children at work, and also visited the solarium. It was announced that the association was having a stall at the Winter Show, under the direction of Airs. Pratt. Honations of goods would be gratefully accepted for the nine days of the show, particularly cakes, sweets etc. Afternoon tea was served under the direction of Airs. Alfred Eady. The hall was artistically decorated bv Airs. Rainger.
