Archbishop Averill attended the an--1 *be Missions to Seamen and during June he has fulfilled many preaching engagements, notably at Canterbury, Winchester and Ripon. The Bishop of Melanesia, who is now in England, is carrivng out a number i of invitations to preach on Melanesia. With the Archbishops of New Zealand ! and Brisbane, the Bishop was one of the speakers at the annual meeting of the Melanesian Mission, which was held at Church House, Westminster, on June 24. Sir Ernest Sweet-Escott. a former Governor of Fiji and High Commissioner for Western Pacific, presided.
