STOLEN LAUNCH TRACED!
BROADCAST DESCRIPTION SUCCEEDS LISTENERS-IN SIGHT VESSEL Press Association NELSON, Today. After hearing a broadcast announcement from Station 2YA that a launch had been stolen from Island Bay, Wellington, the residents of D’Urville Island, who were listening-in, reported to the postmaster at French Pass that a launch answering to the description in the wireless message had been seen sheltering in Greville Harbour. The D’Urville Island police were communicated with and constable Hardy set off from Havelock in a fast launch, arriving in Greville Harbour at 11 o’clock on Sunday morning. The launch turned out to be the missing Sicilia, which was removed from her moorings at Island Bay last Thursday. The man in charge of the boat was arrested and Constable Hardy piloted the launch to Nelson. The launch, which belongs to Guiseppe Lanacchia, a fisherman, is valued at £1,200.
