A Harmony of Pink and Pale Green

Remucra Wedding of Interest LANGSTAFF—ASHTON "Gartside,” the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. Didsbury Ashton, in Victoria Avenue, R emu era, was the scene of a very charming wedding ceremony on Saturday evening, when their only daughter. Miss Rita Ellen Ashton, was married to Mr. Carl S. Langstaff, of Wellington, only son of Mr. H. Langstaff, of Bristol, England. Hydrangeas and winter foliage transformed the drawing room, where the ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. A. Thompson. Only relatives and a few intimate friends were present. Mr. H. Luscornbe played the “Wedding March.” Given away by her father, the bride wore a gown of deep orchid pink gros- | grain faille combined with pale orchid ! pink silk net. The slender corsage i was fashioned with deep V decolletagc ! and was finished at the waist with a | peplum frill. Narrow frills were ar- ! ranged on the widely-flared skirt of i net mounted on palest pink chiffon, i The pretty orchid pink tulle veil was ! arranged cap fashion and fell in grace--1 l'ul folds to form a short train. : Miss Ailsa Howard and Miss Peggy ; Robertson, the two nieces of the bride, wore similarly made frocks of nymph green gros grain faille with slender corsages and bouffant skirts dipping to the ankles at the back. Each maid carried a posy of fragrant violets. After the ceremony a very largely attended reception was held at the Lyceum Club. The lounge was most attractively decorated with winter hydrangeas and bowls of lovely laculia, and the large open tires added a cheery note of warmth. Roses and bowls of laculia were arranged with maidenhair fern on the tables in the supper room. The guests were received at the entrance to the lounge by Mr. and Mrs. Ashton, the latter being gowned in •gentian blue georgette, with smart cape effect, embroidered with silver beads. She carried a bouquet of pink and deep red roses. Among the relatives who were presMr. and Mrs. E. Howard, Mr. and Mrs. Graham Robertson, Mr. and Mrs. G. Heald, Mr. and Mrs. W.
