I Mrs. M. Wilson, of Auckland, is on i a visit to Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. T. Whittaker, of Xew Plymouth, are at the Albert Hotel. j Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Masters, of New j Plvmouth, are staying at the Central ' Hotel. * * * Miss Joyce Rowley has returned to Takapuna from a holiday spent at Matamata. Mrs. W. 31. Parkes. who lias been on a visit to Rotorua, has returned to Auckland. Mrs. E. J. Prendergast left for "Wellington last evening for a visit to her mother, Mrs. M. Devine. Mrs. W. Colt man, of Park Road, Grafton, left by the Maunganui lor Brisbane, where she will spend the winter months. Mrs. TV. Bridgman, president of the Dunedin branch of the Y.W.C.A., will visit Auckland shortly and will be j the guest of Mrs. Stuart 13. Mackay, j of Lake Road. Takapuna. “CARNIVAL NIGHT” . AUCKLAND ATHENIAN CLUB MR. WATSON IS HOST | A most enjoyable “Carnival .Night” was held by the Auckland Athenian I Club in the Operatic Hall, Grafton j Road, on Saturday evening, i Ml*. Watson was host.. The stage was beautifully decorated with coloured streamers, and during the evening very pretty novelties were distributed among the guests. A comedy beauty parade caused mucli amusement, the men wearing quaint masks. 1 The Kit lvat Band provided excell lent jazz music. Interspersed with dancing were the following contributions:—Miss Rita McCullay, song; Mr. Haydn Murray, violin solo; Mr. T. Cullcy and Mr. T. Merry, comedy sketch; Miss Ada Somerville, song.
