SMALL FIRES AT REMUERA
An electric iron which had not been turned off, caused a fire which did slight damage to the floor and lining boards in one room in a house at 39 Williamson Street, One Tree Hill, at 10.30 on Saturday evening. The. house is owned and occupied by Mr. G. R. Blakey. The Remuera Fire Brigade quickly suppressed the outbreak. Fire caused minor damage to a fiveseater motor-car owned and driven by Mr. A. G. Quartley, of Glen Road, Remuera, at 1.45 yesterday morning while the car was in Victoria Avenue. The damage was confined to the upholstery and electric wiring. The Remuera brigade prevented the spread of the flames.
