EVENING WEDDING AT TANGITERORIA

BOUQUET OF PINK CARNATIONS AND CHRYSANTHEMUMS MESSENT—MANSELL A very pretty evening wedding was celebrated at the Tangiteroria Anglican Church on Wednesday, when Lillian Ruth, vounger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Mansell. Tangiteroria, Northern Wairoa. was married to Cecil John, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. J. IT. Messent. Whangarei.

The Rev. J. C. Fussell, of Dargaville, performed the ceremony. Miss Popperell presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of ivory crepe de chine, the ankle-length skirt falling in six points, finished with georgette, and the corsage had long sleeves with handkerchief cuffs. She wore a veil handsomely embroidered, arranged with a dainty wreath of orange blossoms, and she carried a shower bouquet of white chrysanthemums and pink carnations, with streamers of tulle and posies.

Mrs. Clyde Taylor, sister of the bride, as matron of honour, was in a frock of pink crepe de chine, swathed at the side into a diamente ornament, while the bridesmaid, Miss Lucy Walton, wore a beautiful lavender frock with large posy on tlie shoulder. Each wore tulle floral bandeaux, and carried bouquets to tone. Two small nieces of the bride made charming flower-girls —Miss Joyce Taylor in pale lemon,

and Miss Alma Taylor in blue crepe de chine, with flared skirts edged with lace. They carried posies of lemon chrysanthemums and sweet peas.

On entering the church tlve bride was presented with a lucky horseshoe, and this she hung from her wrist. Mr. Lewis Mansell carried out the duties of best man, and Mr. Stan Taylor that of groomsman. The church was daintily decorated by friends of the bride. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Settlers’ Hall, where the usual toasts were honoured, Mr. C. N. Taylor officiating as toastmaster. The latter part of the evening was spent in dancing. Mrs. Mansell. who received her guests, wore a navy satin frock relieved with lace trimmings, and diamente ornaments, and she carried a bouquet of coloured chrysanthemums. Mrs. Messent. mother of the bridegroom, wore a navy silk frock, and she carried an autumn-tinted bouquet. Mrs. S. V. Rogers, of Auckland, aunt of the bride, wore a black lace frock over satin, with a shoulder posy, and she carried a bouquet of autumntinted flowers,
