WHANGAREI HOSPITAL
PROPOSED X-RAY PLANT From Our Own Correspondent WHANGAREI, Monday. Regarding the proposed new X-ray plant at the Whangarei Hospital, the Director-General of Health informed the hospital board today that the provision of funds for this purpose had been allowed to stand, but before authority could be given to purchase the proposed plant he desired the opportunity of having an officer of the department visit the hospital, look into the matter and also the proposed arrangement with Dr. Costello. The director said he felt sure that the proposal to pay a percentage of profits would prove unsatisfactory. “Another case of the department wasting £2O to send a man to investigate a question which a board of 3 0 has thoroughly investigated,” said Mr. W, Jones. The letter was received.
