Wodehouse, the noted humorist, whose character of “Jeeves,” the butler, is one of the most famous of literary persons He has been signed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer to write original stories and adaptations for the screen. Wodehouse is said to be the highest paid short story writer in the world. He is now in London arranging for the production of “The Three Musketeers” at the Drury Lane Theatre. In musical comedy, the reputation of Wodehouse dates back to his asso- . ciation with Guy Bolton and Jerome Stern. This trio was largely responsible for the introduction of the intimate musical show. They created “Oh Boy.” “Oh Lady, Lady” and “Oh My Dear.” In recent years Wodehouse has * adapted for the American stage some i popular foreign comedies. Among them are Molnar’s “The Play's the Thing.” “Her Cardboard Lover” and \ j the Gilbert Miller production, “Candle | Light.” He worked on the book of j Ziegfeld’s “Rosalie” and wrote lyrics j I for “The Three Musketeers.”
