EGYPT MAKES OFFERS TO BERLIN MUSEUM The question of the return to Egypt from Berlin Museum of the head of Queen Nefertiti has entered on a new phase. It Is now stated that the suggestion, if not yet definitely official, has been made by the authorities at Cairo, In return the Egyptian Government proposes not only to permit German archaeologists to excavate again, but to present Germany with the figure of Ranofer. a hero of the old kingdom, and a seated Amenophis. who belongs to many centuries later. These unofficial feelers are very tempting to Germany's Egyptologists. James Simon, the banker who presented Nefertiti to Berlin, it is greatly | permit the exchange if it is greatly j desired at headquarters.
