AUCKLAND EXECUTIVE MEETS RODNEY TRIP OFF Miss P. H. Dawson presided over a full attendance of executive members of the Auckland Ladies’ Hockey Association. Delegates from Northern Wairoa. Piako, Rodney, Waipa, and Whangarei also attended. As no local teams could make the trip, it was decided to notify the Rodney Association of the impossibility to send it a team on June 3. It was stated that the Auckland Provincial Cup had now reached the Auckland A team captain, and would bo held by her until the forthcoming country week tourney commenced. The University Club was given permission to send its senior team to Wellington to take part in the New Zealand University Women’s Hockeys Tournament. The Rangitaiki Association was granted permission to participate in the Bay of Plenty teams’ tournament being held in Rotorua on June 3. Applications for affiliation from Rangitaiki, Rodney, Tauranga and Waikato were granted. The appointment of Misses L. Cochrane as delegate for Rodney, M. Wright for Tauranga and M. Young for Rangitaiki were approved. It was decided that Mrs. Clark be approached to select in the senior grade and Mr. B. Cooper to select in the junior grade. Wesley Club was given permission to arrange for a game with a Collegiate team on June 14 for its senior team. Twenty-five teams entered for the King’s Birthday tourney to be held on Tuesday next, June 3, commencing at 10 a.m. The draw of the first round of games was made as follows: Senior Grade. St. Cuthbert’s College Old Girls v. Papatoetoe, Kiwi v. Somerville. Training College A v. Mount Eden, St. Cuthbert’s College Present v. Wesley. Training College B v. Y.W.C.A. Junior Grade. —Mount Eden v. Technical B. St. Cuthbert’s Present v. Wesley B, Y.W.C.A. v. Ngataringa, Technical A v. Ngaro, Wesley A v. Training College B, Somerville v. Papakura, Epsom Grammar v. Manurcwa, Training College A, a bye.
