WHANGAREI BUILDING SOCIETY

From Ov,r Own Correspondent WHANGAREI, Friday. Speaking at the appropriation meeting of the Whangarei Co-operative Terminating Building Society last evening, the chairman gave a review of the financial position, showing that up to April 30 members had subscribed £25 136. Of this sum £1,293 had been withdrawn, leaving a. sum of £23,540 to the credit of those who had retained their membership. The latter sum was now worth £32,279, less an amount of about £I.OOO which had been held in suspense. The assets were all invested in firstclass securities. The total profits earned at April 30, exclusive of the sum held in suspense, was £S.43C
