AUSTRALIA’S EASY WIN OVER OXFORD INNINGS AND 158 RUNS Reed. 10.20 a.m. LONDON, Tliurs. When the match between the Australian cricketers and Oxford University was resumed today, the visitors’ hillings was declared closed at once, 106 having been scored for the loss of two wickets. By-dismissing Oxford twice for the same score, 124 runs, the Australians scored an easy victory. This was the visitors’ fourth win of the nine matches played. University started badly. Wall’s first ball shattering Kingsley’s wicket. Moore, who has a splendid school record, and the Indian, Patoudi, retrieved the position somewhat, 50 runs appearing after 50 minutes. Grimmett secured his fortieth wickec of the tour when he got Moore with the score at 72.

Five wickets then fell for the addition of only 16 runs. Walker achieved two fine stumpings. Peebles alone of the others offered any resistance, and Grimmett ended the innings, which lasted 135 minutes. He bowled well throughout, and finished with fine figures. FOLLOW ON Oxford followed on at 2.50 p.m., wanting 282 runs to avoid an innings defeat. But three valuable bats were lost within an hour for 25 runs. Ford punished Hurwood and Grimmett, and with- Melville brought the total to 73. The latter was then dismissed by a brilliant catch in the slips. Wall had another success in the next over, and the fifth wicket fell at 80. Bradman, displacing Grimmett, tempted Garland-Wells to hit, and bowled him in the same over. Then Hill-Wood fell to the most brilliant catch of the tour, Richardson taking the hall almost on the ground, with one hand at deep mid-off. Peebles hit.
