MARK KNOWS!
Recent events give an ironical flavour to a remark made by Mark “jichotls when I saw him in Well--sgton on the morning of the North J*land Rugby trial, last week writes A.L.C. in the Christchurch 'Sun”). I inquired about the inlury which was keening him out of -hat game, and he then stated that "»e had skinned one of his knees, and as it was a trifle septic he did not want to run the risk of injuring it again that afternoon. Then I asked if C. G. Porter, who had hurt an ankle, had gone to the trial match. “Yes,” replied Nicholls, •‘and he will be a fool if he plays.” Well, Nicholls, who did not play in that trial game because he had an injury, has been chosen for the New Zealand trial match; Porter, who played although he had an injury, has been omitted. I wonder whether Porter feels now that he was foolish to play!
