CELEBRATING PENTECOST
WEEK OF SPECIAL SERVICES
yesterday was solemnised as a Day of Prayer by various denominations in Auckland as a preparation fo” the special church services which will be held next week in commemorati* n of the 1900th anniversary of Pentecost. A devotional and evangelistic service was conducted by various ministers at the Beresford Street Congregational Church Hall from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., when prayers were offered and appropriate hymns were sung. The week of special united services in celebration of Pentecost will commence on Monday and will be continued until next Fridaj r . The Auckland Ministers’ Association has asked ail churches to make Sunday a great preparation day for the weekly services, concluding with a day of prayer on Saturday, June 7, and special services on Pentecost Sunday, June 8.
