REFERENDUM BILLS THROWN OUT BY SENATE
ARBITRATION AMENDMENTS CANBERRA, Thursday. The Senate has thrown out the Federal Government's three Referendum Bills. The Attorney-General, Mr. F. Brennan, Introduced another Bill in the House of Representatives today, the object of which is to repeal uhe penal clauses of the Commonwealth Arbitration Bill. Of the Federal Government’s three Referendum Bills, one provides for complete power to amend the Constitution; the second for power to control industrial affairs: and the third for power to control trade and commerce.
