BIG STEEPLECHASE MAXIMUM WEIGHT 12.0 The Wellington Racing Clubs programme for the winter meeting, to be held on Tuesday. Thursday and Saturday. July S. 10 and 12, has been is-sued. There is no change from last year except that the hack steeplechases on the first and second days, previously called the First and Second Hack Steeplechases, have been named the Matai Hack Steeplechase and Mariri Hack Steeplechase respectively. The big jumping races carry the same prizes, as follow: —Wellington Steeplechase. £1,000; Winter Hurdles. £1.000; July Steeplechase, £600; Trentham Hurdles. £SOO. The same with the flat events —Parliamentary Handicap. £500: Whyte Handicap, £500; Winter Oats. £500; and Stewards’ Handicap. £4OO. The usual events for hacks over fences and on the flat, and the three races for maidens and two highweights. are included, as formerly. In the Wellington Steeplechase the maximum handicap, or handicap with penalty. shall not exceed 12 stone. Nominations will close on Monday, June 1C
