RIFLE SHOOTING
PRACTICE MATCH AT PENROSE A keen contest between teams of j I eight men representing the New Zea- j land Division of the Royal Navy, the ; New Zealand Corps of Signallers, the j New Zealand Engineers and the AucKland City Defence Rifle Club, was fired j !at Penrose on Saturday. A closely- ! I contested match resulted in a win for ; the Navy team with Captain Clifton I as top scorer for the day. Trophy points were awarded to Griffiths, Hill and Robertson in the ratio of 3,2 and 1 in the City Club’s shoot, I which was fired on the handicap sys- ; tern. The spoon was won by Griffiths. The practices -were:—Five shots application and six shots at the moving figure target at 200 yards, followed by 10 rounds rapid and 10 rounds snap shooting at a disc at 300 yards.
