VICTIMISATION?

SCHOOLBOYS WHO WOULD PLAY LEAGUE SEVERAL CHARGES MADE Several allegations that schoolboys who desired to play League football were being victimised, were made at the meeting of the management committee of the Auckland Rugby Football League. ! The question was introduced by the | delegate from th£ Otahuhu Club, who I asked for permission to place several cases in the hands of Mr. W. J Hammill for investigation. The delegate said that he had the signed statements of two boys of a school in his district in which they stated that they had been forbidden to play the League game. The delegate had taken the question to an official of the school committee and he had merely been laughed at. Mr. Hammill. he said, had advised that the Education Board be approached Another member of the management committee quoted alleged instances of victimisation on the part of the masters of a school of a North Shore suburb. He said that at one time there had been 30 boys at that school wanting to play League, but after the masters had done with them there were only 13 left.
