DAIRY PRODUCE BOARD

NEW MEMBERS NOMINATED Press Association WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Candidates were nominated today for- the seats on the New Zealand Dairy Produce Board, which, in accordance with the provisions of the Dairy Produce Export Control Act, 1923, will be vacated by the retirement on June 30 of three producers’ representatives. The nominations are as fcfllow:

Ward No. 3. —Mr. A. S. Ferguson, Morrinsville (sitting member); Mr. C. L. Luke, Te Puke. Bay of Plenty. This ward embraces the counties of Waikato, Hauraki Plains. Coromandel, Thames. Ohinemuri, Piako. Rotorua, Taupo, Tauranga, Whakatahe and Opotiki, including all boroughs and town districts situated within the counties and so much of the Borough of Hamilton as lies between the Waikato River and the boundary of the Waikato County. Ward No. 4.—Mr. J. Hine. Waitara, acting-chairman of the board, unopposed. This ward comprises Clifton, Inglewood. Taranaki. Stratford, Egraont, Eltham and Whangamomona. Ward No. 7. —Mr. H. T. Chapman, Little River, Canterbury (sitting member) ; Mr. D. Knight, Tua Marina, Marlborough; Mr. T. Mould, Little River.

Lists of all producers carrying on business as suppliers of milk or cream to every dairy produce export factory within the wards form the basis of the rolls for the election, and the votes are calculated on a tonnage basis. The election will take place at the office of the returning officer, in the Department of Agriculture. Wellington, on June 15.
