MAJESTIC
BIG PROGRAMME TOMORROW This evening will be the final opportunity of seeing at the Majestic Theatre the outstanding talkie success, “Seven Lays’ Leave/’ starring Beryl Mercer and Gary Cooper, together with its accompanying programme. From tomorrow the Majestic will present a programme which will include three big talkies. The first attraction will be “Men Are Like That,” a human comedy of everyday life. Hal Skelly, a “shoW off,” marries a young girl, who puts faith in bluffing, in spite of the disgusted protests of her family. Although disillusioned by married life, she still loves him. He gets himself into many hilariously funny scrapes and her family, in order to pro'tect the girl, has to get him out of them. When real trouble comes, however, he turns his nerve to advantage and saves the day. Hal Skelly, Doris Hill (the heroine of “The Studio Murder Mystery”), Charles Sellon, CSara Blandick, Morgan Farley, Helen Chadwick, Eugene Pallette and George FaTwcett are in the cast. A criminal’s partner or a policeman’s wife—these are the diverging paths of life faced by Lila Lee as the heroine in “Dark Streets,” the second big feature tomorrow. As the criminal she would have jewels, beautiful gowns and a luxurious apartment. As a policeman’s helpmate she would have a life of hard work and a struggle against poverty. Which does she choose? In•• Lark Streets” the hand of fate intervenes and decides the question for Katie Lean, the character played by Miss Lee. Jack Mulhall portrays a dual role, that of both the cop and the gunman. Others in the cast are Aggie Herring. Maurice Black and E. H. Calvert and Pat Harmon. A final attraction will be a new and most amusing “Mickey the Mouse” cartoon.
