YOUNG AIRMAN CRASHES AT ROTORUA.—Mr. John Allison, the young Whakatane pilot, crashed in his home-made airplane while taking off from Rotorua on Sunday. With his heavy load of fuel he found it impossible to gain any altitude and the plane, catching in the scrub, dived into a shallow creek. Mr. Allison was unhurt. His wrecked machine is seen above.
