TRICKSTER ARRESTED
SOLD BOGUS PICTURES AS GENUINE MASTERS SENSATION IN PARIS Reed. 12.40 p.m. PARIS, Wednesday. Jean Chas. Millet has been arrested end charged with putting false signatures on art works, and with making a false declaration of the origin of pictures. Millet will also be charged with issuing valueless cheques.
It was revealed in a cable on Tues day that Millet was, by a clever deception, copying the paintings of his grandfather, a master of the Barbizan School, and selling them as genuine works.
