STOCKBROKER DEAD
JOSEPH PALMER OF SYDNEY Reed. 9.5 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. The death has occurred of Mr. Joseph Palmer, the most prominent stockbroker here, at the age of 89 years. Mr. Joseph Palmer been a prominent figure in Australian financial circles for many years. He built up a big connection for his firm in Australia and New Zealand and his monthly circular to Investors was widely read. He was one of the few Australian authorities over the past three months to strike an optimistic note; his contention has been that it is always “darkest just .before the dawn,” and that the trend toward better is just around the corner for Australia and New Zealand; tested sound investments bought at today’s prices, according to Mr. Palmer, must prove highly satisfactory to the investor prepared to hold.
