CALL TO MR HERRON
CONGREGATION PAYS TRIBUTE A resolution expressing appreciation of the services of the Rev. D. C. Herron. during his ten years* ministry, was carried unanimously by a well - ttended meeting of the congregation of St. David’s last evening. The meeting, over which the Rev. D. D. Scott presided, was held to consider the position arising from the c«’l made to Mr. Herron by Knox Church, Dunedin. While regretting the prospect of losing Mr. Herron, the congregation decided to place no obstacle :u his way The resolution drew attention to the important place he had fill* d in the city by his dealing with religious. social and moral questions. During his ministry the membership of the church had increased from 454 to 584.
The parishioners appointed five representatives to attend a meeting of the Auckland Presbytery next Tuesday. when the call will be considered.
