Forbury Park Trots

good fields tomorrow White Satin’s Stakes Prospects THE final fixture for the season of the Forbury Park TrotI ting Club opens tomorrow and will reach finalitv on' Saturday Included in the first-day events is the Sires’ Produce Makes, the square-gaiters’ blue riband, for which the Auckland-owned hite Satin is a prime fancv

trotters' classic was instituted . 1917, when Swiftwood won for D. o Jones. D. Warren was successful the following year with St. Anthony, vhilo in 192 S another of Mr. 11. F. NicoH’ 3 candidates, Manhattan, cap. nired the honour. In 1923 Young Blake scored, and the next year Petorwah came homo at the head of the field in

336 3-5. the record for the race. Another likely champion, Kawhaki, scored in 1925, but his early loss to the sport robbed the Dominion of a rare trotter. Tounr Blake and Peterwali, however, have reached the highest plane, and while the former is now on the retired list, K. Fisken’s crack square--attejr is still going strong. Last year. Koro Peter was looked upon as a good thing for the three-year-old event, but h bad beginning saw him only third to the dead-heaters, fire at Way and Great y'elson. Mr. Geo. McMillan is again supplying the favourite for this the 1930 contest, and on performances it rertainly looks as if there is every •justification for White Satin occupying pride of position.

Two-Year-Old Record A lot of interest is being taken in the attempt to be made by Mr. E. C. Hudson’s two-year-old trotter by Lorenes Todd to establish a record of better than 2.20 for a mile. The general opinion is that given fin© weather and a fast track, a. record will be established. for the colt some time ago trotted a mile in 2.22, and he has progressed a good deal since then. A. Cox„ his trainer, is one of the best men at

the business with a young squaresaiter, and the two-year-old will have every chance to make a name for himself under such careful and able tuition. A fine card of general items will be presented and good racing should result. The field in the main event — Prince of Wales Handicap—is a classy "no. and the presence of the Aucklander, Native Prince, and his exstable mate Carmel in the contest will invest it with additional interest in this province. A review of the card by “Abaydos” Is appended. Bayfield Handicap The?e is a big field of trotters listed tor the opening event. A large contingent will start from the front, of which Brent Boy, E bine, Patty BinKen and Lake Bona are best known. Deceitful should have a rare chance, while Stand By, Fifa. Ambition and Dreat Nelson should also be in the Picture. The favourites may be Deceitful and Fifa. Domain Handicap Another novice field will keep backer* thinking. Most of the runners are on the front line and if Ardgour is ever to make good his chance is here. w “‘i® Derby is a promising youngster. *nd Mary Locanda and Radio are Possibilities. Of the others Lady Dim and Silverwood hold good Prospects, and final fancies will possibly 0e Ulm and Ardgour. Beach Handicap

THE ACCEPTANCES

lot they are. Lady Antrim Is a. promising sort and Peter Daunt has recent form to recommend him. Tarndale will have, a large Southern folanc* Pearl Logan and Suncnild are smart performers. On Taranaki form El Direct will be a nuisance, while Erin’s Fortune is a cut above the ordinary. Old Lenamohr is still capable of creating a surprise, but most support may be for Ei Direct and Erin’s Fortune. N.Z. Sires’ Produce Stakes Six appear on the list for the classic, but it is quiet possible it will be only

a one-dividend go. Lough Guy is said to be full of promise, while Native Bingen is bred the right way for a squaregaiter. However, there can be little doubt that after her fine displavs in public, the popular selection will be White Satin. Prince of Wales Handicap There is a wealth of good material engaged in this principal item. Off the 1 runt Carmel will give his opponents something to do and if the dirt track is dry their chance of overhauling him will not be too rosy. The Shrew is racing consistently and will be bracketed with Peterwali, who also has a fine show. Another strong combination is Sunshower-Jean McElwyn, and it will find solid support. Native Prince appears to be at the top of his form just now, and if the track is heavy Cardinal Logan will be on deck. The brilliant Author Jinks will keep them all busy, but if Carmel goes to the post he may be favourite over The Shrew and the Berry bracket. St. Clair Handicap Trotters will have their sav on this occasion and a useful field will be seen in action. If Great Bell is right she should take a lot of catching, but Ambition may do best of the limit lot, although Quickfire can go solid if in the humour. Boneta has raced well this season, and Nelson Boy is due to break the ice. Peter Lin is dangerous over this distance, while Jock Bingen and Dolores are in good form. The public may vote for Jock Bingen and Peter Lin. Renown Handicap With a field of 25 for this ten-furlong heat, anything is likely to happen. Smart beginners off the front will hold the best prospects and with such ones as Brentlight, Danny Boy, Kate Logan, Silverwood and Morrison, backers will have a good guide in this respect. Farther back Le Thorpe, Pink Sugar, Wild Bingen, Lydia and Baron Bingen promise to be in the firing line. Best backed may be Morrison and Le Thorpe. Flying Handicap The final event of the day—Flying Handicap—looks like providing keen speculation. Several smart sprinters are engaged and there is not much between the field in the way of handicap. The majority are off the front and with Lady Cello, Neerson, Liberal, Wraekeen. Wilma Dillon, Lingfield, Warepa, Vendome and Morning Sun beginning from this position those at the rear will have a hard task to get through in the final rush. However,

Sunshower is a rare speed merchant and if reserved for this event must be given a fine chance. Favouritism may be disputed, however, by Morning Sun, Vendome (if started) and W rackeen.
