REST-CURE OR BEANO?
U.S.A. SHORT-CRUISE SHIPS TO HAVE BIG WINE CARGOES THREE VESSELS CHARTERED United P.A. — By Telegraph—Copyright NEW YORK, Saturday. It is reported that the Cunard Line, with the permission of the State Department, is planning to charter three ships cf its associated Anchor Line to the National Tours Company, which will operate them on a series of three five-day cruises out of New York. They will return without touching any other port. All the time is to be passed at sea. Apart from the usual plan of sending a liner to sea without a destination, American shipping men see in the scheme a way by which the passengers may avoid the “dry” laws, as the ships will carry unlimited supplies of wines, ale, stout and beer. It is understood that the steamers California, Caledonia and Transylvania will be chartered.
