CANADA’S IDEA SCOUTED IN AUSTRALIA BRITAIN’S MEETING ENOUGH OTTAWA, Saturday. Correspondence Id on the table in the House of Commons by the Prime Minister, Mr. Mackenzie King, today disclosed that Canada’s proposal to hold an Imperial Economic Conference at Ottawa this year is acceptable to Britain and the Irish Free State, but is not approved by Australia and South Africa, owing to the holding of the Imperial Conference in London this year. j The Australian Prime Minister, Mr. J. H. Scullin, does not see his way clear to attend two conferences remote from Australia in one year.
