ORPHANS’ CLUE OPENS
The 39th session of the Auckte’* Orphans’ Club was opened at Sco:*Hall, Symonds Street, on Satnrui evening, when there was a l*rg* 8 ' tendance, including Major-General » :f George Richardson, president of iM Returned Soldiers’ Association: Cold* 4 C. F. G. Campbell, Auditor-Genera the chairman, Mr. W. Wallace, **>• members of the Auckland HoflK*** Board, and Mr. A. Towsey, the conductor of the club’s orchestra- J 8 president, Br. C. E. Maguire, Professor Maxwell Walker, a Vfr president, and Mr. Bernard Scnn»--a foundation member, were elected members. They were invested with j* gold badge by the chairman. Tweflc* four new members were elected.
