NEW ARMY HALL
OPENED AT PAPAKURA The Salvation Army, which recently took over a small hall in Papakui < officially, opened its work in Papakun on Sunday afternoon. The service was conducted by Brigadier Cotterill, who was supported by Major Miles, the Rev. J. F. Martin, Methodist minister, and Captain Tyler and Lieutenant Pollock, the two women officers who have been appointed to take charge at Papakura. During tlie service several selections were played by the members of the Onehunga Salvation Army Band. Telegrams of congratulation and best wishes for tlie cause in Papakura were received from Commissioner Cunningham, Ensign McKinnon, and Lieutenants McKinnon and Carmichael, of Te Kuiti. Brigadier Cotterill, in pleading the cause of the Army, said they wanted to get at the masses, to help the fallen and distressed. All-. Martin gave the Army a hearty welcome to Papakura and promised his support as far as he possibly could.
