TAXI FALLS 30 FEET
OCCUPANTS ESCAPE INJURY ACCIDENT AT TITIRANGI The occupants of a taxicab which fell down a 30ft bank- yesterday had a remarkable escape from serious injury, and the par itself was not greatly damaged. Containing, in addition to the driver, a man and his wife, their daughter, aged nine, and a niece aged 12, the taxi was travelling along the Exhibition Drive at Titirangi, and when more than a quarter of a mile beyond the reservoir the wheels ran near the edge of tho bank, which gave way. The car fell 30 feet down the hank, turning over three -times in its descent, and camo to rest upside down against a clump of trees. The occupants stayed in tile car until it stopped, and then clambered out, severely shaken, but not seriously injured. One of the trees which the car struck had been partly broken when a car went over in exactly the same spot about two years ago. Two other cars have gone over the bank recently.
