FOOTBALLERS BUSY

LEAGUE PLAYERS MUSTER IN FORCE There was a big muster of League players at Carlaw Park on Saturday, when an extensive series of practices was held. The day was ideal for football, a sharp nip in the air encouraging vigorous work-outs. Ponsonby and City senior thirteens rolled up in force for a friendly game together. Alost of last year’s men were seen in action. Newton, headed by Francis, last year’s brilliant forward, also mustered well. The club has secured a fine forward in Pollok, an ex-South Auckland Rugby representative. Several other clubs held practices in their districts, and all report good attendances and keenness on the part ot their players.
