JUDGES TO GIVE REASONS FOR AWARDS EDUCATIONAL VALUE That all judges should give reasons, immediately after the event, for making their particular awards was a suggestion made at a meeting of the Auckland Agricultural and Pas,% 1 Association on Friday afternoon uy Air. W. J. H. Reynolds. Ali*. Reynolds said the idea of a show was, to a large extent, to educate the public and if the judges would give the actual reasons for making their awards it would prove most informative. It would mean that the judging time would be exceeded, but the extra time would indeed be well spent. Continuing, Air. Reynolds said that at the Melensville show he made ihe suggestion to several of the judges and they all agreed, and realised the advantages of making a short announcement after the judging of each event. .Mr. H. S. W. King: I do not think we should insist on such a procedure, although I think it should certainly be suggested to the judges. Mr. Reynolds said it was not intended to be a demand but merely a request. The meeting Anally adopted the suggestion that the judges should be requested to give reasons for their placings.
