Darker Ensembles Appear at the Trots

Dull skies, with a doubtful promise of sunshine to come, puzzled the many enthusiastic patrons who attended the chosing day of the Auckland Trotting tHub’s summer meeting at Alexandra Park, Epsom, today. The majority of women had evidently decided that discretion was the better part of style, for very few of the fragile chiffons that graced the Ellerslie lawns yesterday were again m evidence. Rather were there suits and ensembles in crepe de chines, flat crepes, wool georgettes and a sprinkling even, of the light-weight flecked tweeds in the so-smart new* tonings.
