MR. A. McILWAINE A well-known resident of Morrinsville and Motumaoho districts, Mr. Andrew Mcllwaine, died in the Waikato Hospital on Monday after a prolonged illness. Born near "Belfast, Northern Ireland, in 1880, Mr. Mcllwaine came to New Zealand about 23 years ago, and for many years was a builder in Marton. About five or six years ago he went to the Morrinsville district, and carried on business as a storekeeper at Motumaoho. More recently he had resided in Morrinsville until failing health caused him to go into hospital. Mr. Mcllwaine is survived by his wife and three children, Mr. J. Mcllwaine, of Motumaoho, is a brother. MR. T. HUNT Mr. Thomas Hunt, of Wood Street, Papakura, who died yesterday at the age of 81, came to New Zealand from' Gloucestershire, England, 55 years ago, with his wife, and landed at Nelson, where he prospected for gold before moving to Kaipara, North Auckland, where he was engaged in laying the foundation for the present railway. He went to the ‘Waitakere station after some years, and lived there until he retired on superannuation. He then moved to Papakura, where he lived until his death. Mrs. Hunt died two years ago'. Mr. Hunt is survived by three sons —Mr. P. Hunt, of Marne Road. Papakura; Mr. W. Hunt, of Queen Street, Onehunga: Air. K. Hunt, of Onehunga: and two daughters—Mrs. C. Mill®, of Papakura, and Mrs. Stanley, of Te Kuiti.
