CALL TO BRITAIN
SECRETARY TO CHRISTIAN ENDEAVOUR OFFER TO REV. L. B. FLETCHER Minister of the Beresford Street Congregational Church and president of the New Zealand Christian Endeavour Union, the Rev. Lionel B. Fletcher has been invited to the position of general secretary to the Christian Endeavour Union of Great Britain. Should he accept, Mr. Fletcher will be installed at the Great British Section of the World’s Christian Endeavour Jubilee in Royal Albert Hall, London, in May, 1931. Mr. Fletcher had already made arrangements to make an extended tour of service in England next year. The union in Great Britain has 250,000 members and the national unions of Scotland, Ireland, and Wales are affiliated. It is regarded as the largest youth work society in the United Kingdom.
The call to Mr. Fletcher is supported by every section of the movement. Before he came to New he was president of the union in- Great Britain. At a meeting last evening of the executive of the New Zealand Union, Mr. Fletcher said he was giving the call his earnest consideration pnd would leave his decision until the end Of the present month.
