PRESIDENT AND SECRETARY OF CLUB FINED BEER IN LOCKED ROOM From Our Own Correspondent HAMILTON, Today. George Joseph Peach ana Thomas Edward Saxton, president and secretary respectively of the Gordonton football Club, were each fined £2, and costs £1 Bs, for selling liquor without a licence, in the Police Court today. The football club held a ball on October 23, and had 10 gallons of beer in a locked room, of which the president and secretary had a key. Patrons were invited for “spots” at judicious intervals. Defendants pleaded ignorance of a breach of the licensing law.
