SANDERS CUP TRIALS
RACE IN WELLINGTON Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. The first of the series of Sanders Cup trials was held on the harbour last evening. There was a strong northerly blowing, accompanied by a rather choppy sea, but these two factors afforded the crews an opportunity to give an exhibition of their seamanship, which they did. In fact, it was conceded by many, judging on the sailing times and the sta.te of the wind, that this trial could bo numbered among the most successful that have been held in Wellington. The placings and finishing times were as follow:—Clyde, 7hrs 40mins 45seos, 1: All Black. 7hrs 43mins 9secs, 2; Miss Josephine, 7hrs 44mins. 30secs, 3: Wellesley 11., 7hrs 45mins 14secs, 4; Wellesley T., 7hrs 46mins 55secs, 5; Peggy. 7hrs 47mins 32secs.
