STORE DAMAGED

FIRE IN BOOT FACTORY COSTLY PLANT DESTROYED Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Today. A fire in the boot store and repairing factory of C. D. Gough and Sons, Colombo Street, Sydenham, early this morning caused damage estimated at from £I,OOO to £3,000, including the loss of plant. It was an old wooden building, the total insurance being £2,500, in the Northern Assurance Office. The brick walls on the adjoining houses saved them, though the occupants had to evacuate them owing to the heat.
