AUCKLAND’S LOSS
'^ T ORD came to hand this morn* ng from Palmerston North Mr. V. T. Dibble, of Auck--••cl, has been appointed secretary of the Manawatu Racing Club, in succession to the late Mr. J. M. Johnston. Mr. Dibble for some time past has been assistant-secretary to the Auckland Racing Club, and in him the popular secretary, Mr. W. S. Spence, had a very able lieutenant. Auckland sportsmen will learn with the keenest regret of Mr. Dibble’s forthcoming departure, but that will not deter them from extending their heartiest congratulations. The Manawatu R.C. is a progressive body, and the new secretary will have p.enty of opportunities to reveal his proved executive ability. Auckland's loss will most assuredly be Manawatu’s gain.
