OLD MAN’S DEATH
WANDERED AWAY FROM HOME Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. Evidence that deceased was very ' absentminded, and that his memory I was failing him. was given at the in- j quest on Saturday concerning the j death of William Shearer, aged 81, who j wandered from his home in Karori on | Saturday last, and was found dead i in a gully near the Karori cemetery on I Wednesday. The coroner, Mr. J. S. Barton, S.M'. ! said that the evidence led to a clear finding. His verdict was that deceased i died from exposure and exhaustion on i about December 1, having wandered ■ away from his home, and by reason ; of his age and impaired faculties been j unable to return.
