Remarkable Claim by Berlin Doctor “ABSOLUTELY HARMLESS - ’ Dr. Peter Schmidt, Berlin, made remarkable claims for rejuvenation in an address at Wigmore Hall to the Congress of the Sexual Reform League. He made a survey of the 600 rejuvenation operations which he said he had performed since Steinach’s book on the subject appeared nine years ago. Describing the effects of Steinach’s methods. Dr. Schmidt said that the dim eyes of the patient regained a lively expression, and sparkled; the complexion became rosy; the head showed fine hair, sometimes of the original colour; the skin became more elastic; and the many small wrinkles in the face became evened out. The whole appearance and movements of the rejuvenated being were tauter and more energetic. The muscles showed measurable increase in volume and tone. Bodily work and sports were again resumed, and were carried on without over-exertion or exhaustion. Frequently the sight improved. Dr. Schmidt said it was absolutely certain that Steinach’s methods of rejuvenation were harmless. In not a single case had death or even disturbance occurred in connection with the operation. _____
