MOTOR-CYCLIST KILLED
SMASH WITH TAXI ON WET NIGHT ’Press Association INVERCARGILL,, Today. A collision between a motor-cycle and a taxi on Sunday night resulted in the instant death of Robert Oughton, aged 30, and severe facial injuries to Susannah McConaehie, aged 27, her younger sister, also pillion-riding, escaping injury. It was raining at the time, obscuring the vision of Oughton. He was a single man, a partner in a firm of carriers, and was a well-known representative Southland footballer and former captain of the Star Club.
