| INSPECTOR PRAISES BRIGADE i From Our Own Correspondent WAIHI, Thursday. The quarterly meeting of the Waihi j Fire Board was held this afternoon, | Mr. W. Ellerington, Government reprej sentative. pres ding. There were als<> present Messrs. H. V. Tregear and W. Skegg (Auckland members). The Government inspector of fire brigades, Captain T. T. Hugo, reported that he had inspected the brigade ami its equipment on September 26. All members, with the exception of one. who was on leave, had been present, and he had found a great improvement |in the brigade and brigade matters generally. The required inspection drills had been carried out in a very ! creditable manner and the station ajid j equipment had been found to be ir. : good order. i A suggestion that the board should j consider the question of purchasing a , new fire engine was made in the report jof the superintendent, Mr. W. E. i Roberts. It was decided to hold the ! subject over until the next meeting, and to make inquiries in the meani time. On the suggestion of Mr. H. T. DonI aldson. who has been appointed to attend to the fire alarm system, it was decided to complete Xo. 4 circuit. 1 which will give added protection to a thickly populated area bounded by the Recreation Ground. Tauranga Road and Rosemont Road.
